Geological Photo-vignettes

Here are a few glimpses of my geological past life, along with a thumbnail bio.

Began my geological education and career at U. of Wisconsin in 1965, served as field assistant to Lloyd Furer in Wyoming. Air Force hiatus 1967-73, ending in Grand Forks, ND, where I completed my B.S. in Geology in 1975. Grad school at U. of Calgary ('75-'76), then Montana State U. ('76-'80). Uranium exploration summers of '74 & '75 (Exxon) and '77 (Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co.). Talc exploration summer/fall '79 (Dillon Exploration). Life hiatus '80 - '98, Bozeman - Spokane - Seattle - Los Angeles - San Diego (included work as night auditor, various hotels; manufacturing engineer, Boeing; software QA engineer, various companies). Geology grad school, San Diego State, '98-'04, MS completed. Retired adjunct professor, geology and oceanography, at most of the San Diego County community colleges, retired in 2020. Member of San Diego Association of Geologists, GSA, NAGT, HESS, AESE, AGU.
